Soccer for National Teams: UEFA European Football Championship, Summary and Data

Information about the UEFA European Football Championship with the last 10 winners of the competition, the national teams with the most trophies won in the history of the tournment and an index to every final played.

The UEFA European Soccer Championship is the main soccer competition of the men's national soccer teams governed by the UEFA. Held every four years since 1960, in the even-numbered year between World Cup tournaments, it was originally called the European Nations Cup, changing to the name European Soccer Championship in 1968.

The 1964 competition was the first European Nations Cup to be affected by politics as it saw Greece refusing to play Albania as they were technically (though not officially) at war. The finals were hosted by Spain, and they saw the hosts beat the Soviet Union 2-1 in Madrid.
